Sugar Plum Fairy — Doll-Making Workshop (Ages 6+), December 20, 3-6 PM

Design and sew a Sugar Plum Fairy cloth doll with tutu and sparkle trims. Hand and machine sewing. Small group (6 seats). Saturday, Dec 20 · 3:00–6:00 PM · $100.

Design and sew a Sugar Plum Fairy cloth doll with tutu and sparkle trims. Hand and machine sewing. Small group (6 seats). Saturday, Dec 20 · 3:00–6:00 PM · $100.

Celebrate the season by creating a keepsake Sugar Plum Fairy doll. Students will cut, stitch, and design their fairy—embroidered face, wool hair, and a sparkly tutu, We’ll combine beginner-friendly machine sewing for sturdy seams with hand-sewn details for personality and polish.
Last year we made an angel version—this year’s fairy brings the Nutcracker magic!

Who it’s for: True beginners are welcome; returning students can add layered trims and more advanced embellishments.

What we’ll do:

  • Use simple patterns to cut and machine-stitch the doll clothing.

  • Stuff and close the doll.

  • Embroider simple facial features.

  • Personalize with ribbon and trim.

Take-home: One finished 20" cloth Sugar Plum Fairy (or very close to finished) plus a small embellishment packet for final touches at home if desired.

  • Includes: All materials, tools, patterns, and festive trims (buttons/beads are optional and used with age-appropriate guidance)

Skills They’ll Practice

  • Machine sewing: threading, straight stitch, seam allowance, backstitching, turning & pressing

  • Hand sewing: simple embroidery for features

  • Pattern layout & safe cutting; stuffing and shaping

  • Creative decision-making: color palette, hair styling, skirt design, accessory selection

  • Fine-motor coordination and construction sequencing

Good to Know

  • Drop-off only. Our studio is cozy and set up for makers; there isn’t a waiting area. Nearby shops and cafés make the time fly.

  • Please arrive no more than 5 minutes early and pick up on time so we can reset smoothly.

  • Workshops are non-refundable. (See policies below.)
