DESCRIPTION
At Little Stitch Studio, we introduce kids to the world of fashion through hands-on, engaging sewing classes. Students ages 6-12 learn foundational sewing techniques, pattern-making, draping, textile science, illustration, and fashion history. Our small group classes ensure that each child receives personalized guidance in a supportive and creative environment.
Class Details:
Duration: Weekly 1-hour classes, 8-week sessions
Price: $250 per session; monthly billing available
Ages: 6-12 years
Supplies: All materials included
One-time Registration Fee: New students pay an annual $75 supply fee for the school year.
Projects:
Students will focus on a complete fashion design project from start to finish. Depending on their skill level, they may create dresses, skirts, jackets, or structured garments. The curriculum is designed to encourage creativity while reinforcing technical sewing and design skills.
Skill Level: No prior sewing experience needed
Projects:
Students will create a variety of wearable and functional items throughout the session. Projects may include accessories like tote bags and scrunchies, as well as garments such as skirts, tops, or pajama pants. Each project is carefully chosen to build skills progressively, allowing students to gain confidence and independence in sewing.
Each student works at their own pace, developing skills and confidence while creating 2-3 projects per session. While I provide structure and support, project completion is ultimately up to each student and how they choose to focus their time in class. My goal is to encourage independence while offering guidance and instruction along the way. We maintain a small student-to-teacher ratio of 3:2 to provide ample guidance. Our projects evolve with each sessions, ensuring that students can continue growing their skills throughout the year.
Sewing Machines & Tools:
Students work on bernette b38 sewing machines, which are beginner-friendly and include safety features such as finger guards and speed control. Each sewing station is equipped with essential tools, including fabric shears, marking pens, rulers, and measuring tapes. All necessary materials are provided.
Waitlist & Make-Ups:
If a class is full, email us to be added to the waitlist. Each student may schedule one make-up class per session if needed.
