Description
Students begin with a sequence of foundational skills designed to build strong technique — accurate cutting, confident machine sewing, and clean finishing.
Beginners are welcome. Returning students continue building independence through new techniques and more complex construction, always with clear instruction and thoughtful pacing.
Instruction reflects the same structured curriculum used at Little Stitch Studio in Norfolk.
Students will:
• Learn to operate a sewing machine safely and confidently.
• Practice threading, seam allowance, pinning, cutting, and pressing.
• Work with structured, child-friendly patterns.
• Complete a guided fashion or accessory project from start to finish.
Instruction is intentionally sequenced: foundations first, then layered skills. The 8-week format allows time for repetition, reinforcement, and growing independence.
Students learn to work with focus, patience, and pride in what they make.
Important Notes
• Enrollment is limited to Norfolk Collegiate Lower School students in Grades 4–5.
• Project completion depends on individual pace and focus during class time.
