Norfolk Collegiate Enrichment: Fashion Design + Sewing (Grades 4–5)

$300.00

This class is exclusively for currently enrolled Norfolk Collegiate Lower School students in Grades 4–5 | Fall 2026

Discover how fashion moves from an idea to a finished design.

In this hands-on Little Stitch Studio program, students will explore fashion through design, textiles, pattern, shape, and construction. Students will investigate fabrics and how they behave, experiment with turning flat shapes into three-dimensional forms, develop their own design ideas, and learn fundamental hand- and machine-sewing skills.

Rather than simply completing a series of sewing projects, students will work through an age-appropriate version of the fashion design process, learning to observe, experiment, make choices, solve problems, and refine their work. Activities will build toward a final sewn design using a curated collection of fabrics and materials.

The program is designed to give beginners plenty of structure while allowing students with previous experience opportunities for creative choice and greater independence.

No previous sewing experience is required.
